From Vienna International Airport

Vienna International Airport is situated about 20 kms from Vienna city centre. Travel either by taxi, by the Airport Bus Shuttle, by the train ("S-Bahn") or by CAT (City Airport Train).

Taxi

The taxi stand at the airport is at the exit of the Arrival Hall. It takes about half an hour’s ride to get to the centre (approximately 30 - 35 Euro).

Airport Bus Shuttle

There are regular buses from the airport to
     - Wien Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz (with connection to undergrounds U1,U4)
     - Wien Dörfelstrasse/Meidling (with connection to underground U6)
     - Wien Westbahnhof (with connection to undergrounds U3 and U6)
The bus station is directly in front of the airport arrival hall. Buses leave every 20 to 30 minutes. It takes around 30 minutes to get to Vienna. Tickets (6 Euro) can be bought on the bus or from the ticket machine. Tickets are only valid for the shuttle bus, not for public transport in Vienna!
Participants who want to go directly to the conference venue from the airport are advised to take the airport bus to Wien Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz. Then take tram 1, direction Stefan-Fadinger-Platz, and get off at stop Schottentor. From Schottentor take the tram (Nr. 43 or 44) for two stations to Lange Gasse/Spitalgasse.

Train

To get to the Airport train, please follow the sign "S-Bahn" in the Airport Arrival Hall. Take the line "S 7", get off at Wien Mitte - Landstrasse, change to the underground number three (U3), direction Ottakring. Get off at Volkstheater, change to the underground number two (U2), direction Schottenring. Get off at at Schottentor-Universitaet (University main building) and take the tram (Nr. 43 or 44) for two stations to Lange Gasse/Spitalgasse.

The ticket can be bought at the ticket machine in the train station.

By City Airport Train (CAT)

From the airport non stop to the City Air Terminal (Wien-Mitte/Landstraße Underground Stations U4 & U3) in the centre of Vienna. A running time of only 16 minutes makes the CAT the fastest possibility to get from the airport to the centre. Every half hour from 6:05 am to 11:35 pm from the airport, between 5:38 am and 11:08 pm from the City Air Terminal where passengers can also check in.

From the railway stations

Wien Westbahnhof

Take the underground number three (U3), direction Simmering, to Volkstheater, then change to the underground number two (U2), direction Schottenring. Get off at at Schottentor-Universitaet (University main building) and take the tram (Nr. 43 or 44) for two stations to Lange Gasse/Spitalgasse.

Wien Meidling / Philadelphiabruecke

Take subway U6 direction Floridsdorf, to Westbahnhof, then change to the underground number 3 (U3), direction Simmering. Get off at Volkstheater and change to the tram number 1 oder D. Get off at Schottentor and take the tram (Nr. 43 or 44) for two stations to Lange Gasse/Spitalgasse.

Wien Hauptbahnhof

Take the tram D directly to Schottentor, from here you choose the tram (44 or 43) for two stations.
